Report flags / employment letter
DETAILS“The letter is dated in the future”
What this flag on a employment letter means, why it matters, and what to check.
What it means
The date on the offer or employment letter hasn't happened yet.
Why it matters
A real letter is dated the day it's written. A future date usually comes from a template filled in by hand.
Ordinary explanations
- A typo in the year, especially in January.
What to check
Call the employer to confirm the letter. Use the phone number on the employer's official website, not the one printed in the letter.
A flag is a reason to verify with the source, not proof. Apply the same steps to every applicant.
