Report flags / PDF file
THE FILE“The file was saved again after the original version”
What this flag on a PDF file means, why it matters, and what to check.
What it means
The PDF contains more than one saved revision: later changes were appended on top of the original.
Why it matters
Each revision can change what the page shows while the original stays underneath. It's the usual trace of editing a PDF.
Ordinary explanations
- Filling in a form field or adding a signature saves a new revision.
- Some viewers save annotations this way.
What to check
Ask the applicant for a copy downloaded directly from the source (payroll portal or bank), and compare it with this one.
A flag is a reason to verify with the source, not proof. Apply the same steps to every applicant.
