Report flags / PDF file
THE FILE“Content layered on top of the page”
What this flag on a PDF file means, why it matters, and what to check.
What it means
The page carries annotations, such as text boxes or shapes, that sit on top of the original content.
Why it matters
Placing a white box with new numbers over the old ones is one of the simplest ways to alter a document.
Ordinary explanations
- Highlights, comments or a signature box added by someone who reviewed the document.
What to check
Ask the applicant for a copy downloaded directly from the source (payroll portal or bank), and compare it with this one.
A flag is a reason to verify with the source, not proof. Apply the same steps to every applicant.
Check a document for this and moreStubSure checks the file, the numbers and how documents line up, in about a minute.
