THE FILE“Content Credentials record an edit”
What this flag on a image means, why it matters, and what to check.
What it means
The image's Content Credentials say its content was edited in a named tool.
Why it matters
Content edits, unlike cropping or resizing, change what the image shows.
Ordinary explanations
- Retouching glare or a shadow on a document photo.
What to check
Ask the applicant for a copy downloaded directly from the source (payroll portal or bank), and compare it with this one.
A flag is a reason to verify with the source, not proof. Apply the same steps to every applicant.
